25 Years Since Gagarin's Spaceflight – Original Russian Poster

A striking triptych created to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s historic spaceflight aboard Vostok 1 on 12 April 1961.

Designed by Vladimir Feklyaev, the composition reflects the artist’s characteristic use of vibrant color, strong contrasts, and dynamic forms. At the center, a monumental portrait of Gagarin dominates the three-panel design, establishing him as the symbolic figure of the Soviet space age.

The left panel looks back to the intellectual origins of space exploration through Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, widely regarded as the father of modern astronautics. The right panel turns toward the technological achievements of the late Soviet space program, depicting the Mir space station with a Soyuz spacecraft docked alongside it.

Spanning nearly two meters in width, the triptych presents a visual history of Soviet space exploration, moving from its theoretical beginnings through Gagarin’s pioneering flight to the orbital technology of the 1980s.
