Food Production Workshop - Original Russian Propaganda Poster
Striking DONA collective design promoting food production alongside industry. A vast blue factory structure opens onto a vivid green agricultural landscape overflowing with tomatoes and other produce, visually bringing industry and cultivation together in a single geometric composition.
The slogan reads approximately: “Create an auxiliary workshop — a workshop producing food!” It encourages industrial enterprises to develop subsidiary agricultural production.
Hand screen-printed on heavy paper stock, the poster combines DONA’s bold geometry, vibrant colors and characteristically direct visual language with an unusually decorative image of Soviet agriculture and industry.
Agitplakat Dona was a poster collective established in Rostov-on-Don in the early 1960s, bringing together artists and writers whose designs were subsequently distributed throughout the Soviet Union.
